  | 1:6 | 6 I wondur, that so soone ye be
thus moued fro hym that clepid you in to the grace of Crist, in to another
euangelie; which is not anothir, | 6 ¶ i marvel that ye are so soon
turned from him that called you in the grace of Christ, unto another gospell, | 6 I marvayle that ye are so sone
turned fro him that called you in the grace of Christ vnto another gospell: | 6 I maruell yt ye are so soone
turned (from him that called you in the grace of Christ) vnto another
Gospell: | 6 I marueile that ye are so
soone remoued away vnto another Gospel, from him that had called you in the
  grace of Christ, | 6
I maruayle, that ye are so soone turned from him that had called you in the

  | 1:7 | 7 but that ther ben summe that
troublen you, and wolen mysturne the euangelie of Crist. | 7 which is nothing else, but

  | 1:8 | 8 But thouy we, or an aungel of
heuene, prechide to you, bisidis that that we han prechid to you, be he
acursid. | 8 Nevertheless though we
ourselves, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospell unto you than
that which we have preached unto you, hold him as accursed. | 8 Neverthelesse though we oure
selves or an angell fro heve preache eny other gospell vnto you the that
which we have preached vnto you holde him as a cursed. | 8 Neuertheles though we oure
selues, or an angell from heaue preach vnto you eny other Gospel, the yt
which we haue preached vnto you, the same be acursed. | 8 But though that we, or an
Angel from heauen preach vnto you otherwise, then that which we haue preached
vnto you, let him be accursed. | 8
Neuerthelesse, though we, or an Angel from heauen, preache any other Gospel
vnto you, then that which we haue preached vnto you, let hym be
accursed. | 8 But though we, or an Angel
from heauen, preach any other Gospel vnto you, then that which wee haue
preached vnto you, let him be accursed. |

  | 1:9 | 9 As Y haue seid bifore, and now
eftsoones Y seie, if ony preche to you bisidis that that ye han vndurfongun,
be he cursid. | 9 As i said before, so say i now
again, if any man preach any other thing unto you, than that ye have
received, hold him accursed. | 9 As I sayde before so saye I
now agayne yf eny man preache eny other thinge vnto you then that ye have
receaved holde him accursed. | 9 As we haue sayde afore, so
saye we now agayne: Yf eny ma preach vnto you eny other thinge, the yt ye
haue receaued, ye same be acursed. | 9 As we sayd before, so say I
now againe, If any man preach vnto you otherwise, then that ye haue receiued,
let him be accursed. | 9
As we sayde before, so say I nowe agayne, yf any man preache any other
Gospell vnto you, then that ye haue receaued, let hym be accursed. | 9 As we said before, so say I
now againe, If any man preach any other Gospel vnto you, then that yee haue
receiued, let him be accursed. |

  | 1:10 | 10 For now whether counsele Y
men, or God? or whether Y seche to plese men? If Y pleside yit men, Y were
not Cristis seruaunt. | 10 Seek i now the faveour of
men, or of God? Other go i about to please men? If i studied to please men, i
were not the servant of Christ. | 10 Preache I mannes doctrine or
Godes? Ether go I about to please men? If I stodyed to please men I were not
the servaunt of Christ. | 10 Preach I men now or God? Or
go I aboute to please men? Yf I shulde yet please men, I were not the
seruaunt of Christ. | 10 For nowe preach I mans
doctrine, or Gods? or go I about to please men? for if I should yet please
men, I were not the seruant of Christ. | 10
Do I nowe perswade men, or God? Other do I seke to please men? For yf I
shoulde yet please men, I were not the seruaunt of Christe. | 10 For doe I now perswade men,
or God? or doe I seeke to please men? For if I yet pleased men, I should not
bee the seruant of Christ. |

  | 1:11 | 11 For, britheren, Y make knowun
to you the euangelie, that was prechid of me, for it is not bi man; | 11 ¶ i certify you brethren,
that the gospell which was preached of me, was not after the manner of men, | 11 I certifie you brethren that
the gospell which was preached of me was not after the maner of men | 11 But I certifye you brethren,
yt the Gospell which is preached of me, is not of men. | 11 Now I certifie you, brethren,
that ye Gospel which was preached of me, was not after man. | 11
I certifie you brethren, that the Gospell which was preached of me, was not
after man. | 11 But I certifie you, brethren,
that the Gospel which was preached of me, is not after man. |

  | 1:12 | 12 ne Y took it of man, ne
lernyde, but bi reuelacioun of Jhesu Crist. | 12 neither received i it of man,
neither was i taught it: but received it by the revelation of Iesus Christ. | 12 nether receaved I it of ma
nether was I taught it: but receaved it by the revelacion of Iesus Christ. | 12 For I nether receaued it ner
lerned it of ma, but by the reuelacion of Iesus Christ. | 12 For neither receiued I it of
man, neither was I taught it, but by the reuelation of Iesus Christ. | 12
For I neither receaued it of man, neither was I taught [it] but by the
reuelation of Iesus Christe. | 12 For I neither receiued it of
man, neither was I taught it, but by the reuelation of Iesus Christ. |

  | 1:13 | 13 For ye han herd my
conuersacioun sumtyme in the Jurie, and that Y pursuede passyngli the chirche
of God, and fauyt ayen it. | 13 Ye have heard of my
conversation in times past in the Jewes' ways, how that beyond measure i
persecuted the congregation of God, and spoiled it: | 13 For ye have hearde of my
conversacion in tyme past in the Iewes wayes how that beyonde measure I
persecuted the congregacion of God and spoyled it: | 13 For ye haue herde of my
conuersacion afore tyme in the Ieweshippe, how that beyode measure I
persecuted the cogregacion of God, and spoyled it, | 13 For ye haue heard of my
conuersation in time past, in the Iewish religion, how that I persecuted the
Church of God extremely, and wasted it, | 13
For ye haue hearde of my conuersation in tyme past in the Iewes religion,
howe that beyonde measure I persecuted the Churche of God, & spoyled
it: | 13 For yee haue heard of my
couuersation in time past, in the Iewes Religion, how that beyond measure I
persecuted the Church of God, and wasted it: |

  | 1:14 | 14 And Y profitide in the Jurie
aboue many of myn eueneldis in my kynrede, and was more aboundauntli a
folewere of my fadris tradiciouns. | 14 and prevailed in the jewes'
law, above many of my companions, which were of mine own nation, and
much more fervently maintained the traditions of the elders. | 14 and prevayled in the Iewes
laye above many of my companions which were of myne awne nacio and was a
moche more fervet mayntener of the tradicions of the elders. | 14 and preuayled in the
Ieweshippe aboue many of my companyons in my nacion, & was a moch more
feruent manteyner of the tradicions of the fathers. | 14 And profited in the Iewish
religion aboue many of my companions of mine owne nation, and was much more
zealous of the traditions of my fathers. | 14
And profited in the Iewes religion, aboue many of my companions in mine owne
nation, beyng a very feruent maynteyner of the traditions of my fathers. | 14 And profited in the Iewes
Religion, aboue many my equals in mine owne nation, being more exceedingly
zealous of the traditions of my fathers. {equals: Gr. equals in years} |

  | 1:15 | 15 But whanne it pleside hym,
that departide me fro my modir wombe, | 15 ¶ But when it pleased God,
which separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace, | 15 But whe it pleased God which
seperated me from my mothers wombe and called me by his grace | 15 But whan it pleased God which
separated me fro my mothers wombe, and called me by his grace, | 15 But when it pleased God

  | 2:2 | 2 Y wente vp bi reuelacioun, and
spak with hem the euangelie, which Y preche among the hethene; and bi hem
silf to these that semeden to be sumwhat, lest Y runne, or hadde runne in
veyne. | 2 Yee, and i went up by
revelation, and commended with them of the gospell, which i preach among the
gentiles: but apart with them that are counted chief, lest it should have
been thought that i should run, or had run in vain. | 2 Ye and I went vp by revelacion
and comened with them of the Gospell which I preache amonge the gentyls: but
apart with them which were couted chefe lest it shuld have bene thought yt I
shuld runne or had runne in vayne. | 2 But I wente vp by reuelacion,
and commened with the of ye Gospell, which I preach amonge the Heythe: but

I went vp also by reuelation, & I declared vnto them the Gospel which I

lest by any meanes, I shoulde runne or had runne in vayne. | 2 And I went vp by reuelation,
and communicated vnto them that Gospel, which I preach among the Gentiles,
but priuately to them which were of reputation, lest by any meanes I should
runne, or had runne in vaine. {privately: or, severally} |

  | 2:3 | 3 And nother Tite, that hadde be
with me, while he was hethene, was compellid to be circumsidid; | 3 Also Titus which was with me,
though he were a Greek, yet was not compelled to be circumcised, | 3 Also Titus which was with me
though he were a Greke yet was not compelled to be circumcised | 3 But Titus which was also with
me, was not compelled to be circucysed, though he was a Greke: | 3 But neither yet Titus which
was with me, though he were a Grecian, was compelled to be circumcised, | 3
But neither Titus which was with me, beyng a Greke, was compelled to be
circumcised, | 3 But neither Titus, who was
with me, being a Greeke, was compelled to be circumcised: |

  | 2:4 | 4 but for false britheren that
weren brouyt ynne, whiche hadden entrid to aspie oure fredom, which we han in
Jhesu Crist, to bring vs in to seruage. | 4 and that because of incomers
being false brethren, which came in among others to spy out our liberty which
we have in Christ Iesus, that they might bring us into bondage. | 4 and that because of incomers
beynge falce brethren which came in amoge other to spye out oure libertie
which we have in Christ Iesus that they might bringe vs into bondage. | 4 and that because of certayne
incommers beynge false brethre, which came in amoge other, to spye out oure
libertye, which we haue in Christ Iesus, that they mighte brynge vs in to
bondage: | 4 To wit, for the false brethren
which were craftily sent in, and crept in priuily to spie out our libertie,
which we haue in Christ Iesus, that they might bring vs into bondage. | 4
And that because of incommers, being false brethren, which came in priuily,
to spye out our libertie which we haue in Christe Iesu, that they myght bryng
vs into bondage. | 4 And that because of false
brethren vnawares brought in, who came in priuily to spie out our libertie,
which wee haue in Christ Iesus, that they might bring vs into bondage. |

  | 2:5 | 5 But we yyue no place to
subieccioun, that the treuthe of the gospel schulde dwelle with you. | 5 To whom we gave no room, no
not for the space of an hour, as concerning to be brought into subjection:
and that because that the truth of the gospell might continue with you. | 5 To whom we gave no roume no
not for the space of an houre as cocerninge to be brought into subieccio: and
that because that the trueth of the gospell myght continue with you. | 5 To whom we gaue no rowme, no
not for the space of an houre, as concernynge to be broughte in to
subieccion: yt the trueth of the Gospell mighte comtynue with you. | 5 To whom we gaue not place by
subiection for an houre, that the trueth of the Gospel might continue with
  you. | 5
To whom, no not for an houre, we gaue place by subiection, that the trueth of
the Gospel might continue with you. | 5 To whom wee gaue place by
subiection, no not for an houre, that the trueth of the Gospel might continue
  with you. |

  | 2:6 | 6 But of these that semeden to
be sumwhat; whiche thei weren sum tyme, it perteyneth not to me, for God
takith not the persoone of man; for thei that semeden to be sumwhat, yauen me
no thing. | 6 ¶ Of them which seemed to be
great (what they were in time passed it maketh no matter to me: God looketh
on no man's person) nevertheless they which seem great, added nothing to me: | 6 Of the which seme to be great
(what they were in tyme passed it maketh no matter to me: God loketh on no
mans person) neverthelesse they which seme great added nothynge to me. | 6 As for the that semed to be
greate, what they were in tyme passed, it maketh no matter to me. For God
loketh not on the outwarde appearaunce of men. Neuertheles they which semed
greate, taught me nothinge: | 6 But by them which seemed to be
great, I was not taught (whatsoeuer they were in time passed, I am nothing
the better: God accepteth no mans person) for they that are the chiefe, did
adde nothing to me aboue that I had. | 6
Of them which seemed to be somewhat (what they were in time passed, it maketh
no matter to me, God accepteth no mans person) for they which seemed chiefe,

in the Apostleshippe over the circumcision the same was myghty in me amoge
the gentyls: | 8 (For he yt was mightie with
Peter to the Apostleshippe ouer the circumcision, the same was mightie with

Peter in the Apostleship ouer the circumcision, was also mightie by me toward
  the Gentiles) | 8
(For he that was myghtie in Peter, to the Apostleshyp of the circumcision,
the same was myghtie in me towarde the gentiles) | 8 (For he that wrought
effectually in Peter to the Apostleship of the circumcision, the same was
mightie in me towards the Gentiles.) |

  | 2:9 | 9 and whanne thei hadden knowe

and Ihon, which seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto
me, they gave to me and Barnabas their hands, and agreed with us that we
should preach among the heathen, and they among the Jewes: | 9 and therfore when they
perceaved the grace that was geve vnto me then Iames Cephas and Iohn which
semed to be pilers gave to me and Barnabas the ryght hondes and agreed with
vs that we shuld preache amonge the Hethen and they amonge the Iewes: | 9 they perceaued the grace that

me and Barnabas ye righte handes, and agreed with vs, that we shulde preach
amonge the Heythe, and they amonge the Iewes: | 9 And when Iames, and Cephas,
and Iohn, knew of the grace that was giuen vnto me, which are counted to be
pillars, they gaue to me and to Barnabas the right hands of fellowship, that
we should preach vnto the Gentiles, and they vnto the Circumcision, | 9
When they perceaued the grace that was geuen vnto me, then Iames, Cephas, and
Iohn, which seemed to be pyllers, gaue to me and Barnabas the ryght handes of
felowshyppe, that we [shoulde be Apostles] vnto the Heathen, and they vnto
the circumcision. | 9 And when Iames, Cephas and
Iohn, who seemed to bee pillars, perceiued the grace that was giuen vnto me,
they gaue to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship, that wee should
goe vnto the heathen, and they vnto the circumcision. |

  | 2:11 | 11 But whanne Petre was comun to
Antioche, Y ayenstood hym in the face, for he was worthi to be vndirnommen. | 11 ¶ When Peter was come to
Antioch, i withstood him in the face, for he was worthy to be blamed. | 11 And when Peter was come to
Antioche I withstode him in the face for he was worthy to be blamed. | 11 But wha Peter was come to
Antioche, I withstode him in ye face: for he was worthy to be blamed. | 11 And when Peter was come to
Antiochia, I withstood him to his face: for he was to be condemned. | 11
But whe Peter was come to Antioche, I withstoode him to the face, because he
was to be blamed. | 11 But when Peter was come to
Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed. |

  | 2:12 | 12 For bifor that ther camen

he withdrowy, and departide hym, dredinge hem that weren of circumcisioun. | 12 For yer that certain came
from Iames, he ate with the gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew
and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision, | 12 For yerr that certayne came
fro Iames he ate with the gentyls. But when they were come he withdrue and
separated him selfe fearinge them which were of ye circumcision. | 12 For afore there came certayne
from Iames, he ate with the Heythe. But wha they were come, he withdrue and
separated himselfe, fearinge the which were of the circumcision. | 12 For before that certaine came
from Iames, he ate with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew
and separated himselfe, fearing them which were of the Circumcision. | 12
For yer yt certaine came from Iames, he dyd eate with the gentiles: But whe
they were come, he withdrue, and seperated himselfe, fearing them which were

  | 2:13 | 13 And the othere Jewis

dyssembled with him likewyse, in so moch yt Barnabas was brought in to their
symulacion also. | 13 And the other Iewes played
the hypocrites likewise with him, in so much that Barnabas was led away with
them by that their hypocrisie. | 13
And the other Iewes dissembled lykewyse with hym: insomuch that Barnabas also
was brought into their simulation. | 13 And the other Iewes
dissembled likewise with him, insomuch that Barnabas also was caried away
  with their dissimulation. |

  | 2:14 | 14 But whanne Y sawy, that thei

not the right way after the truth of the gospell, i said unto Peter, before
all men, if thou being a Iewe, livest after the manner of the gentiles, and
not as do the Jewes: why causest thou the gentiles to follow the Iewes | 14 But when I sawe that they
went not the ryght waye after the trueth of the gospell I sayde vnto Peter
before all men yf thou beynge a Iewe livest after the maner of the gentyls

walked not right after ye trueth of the Gospell, I sayde vnto Peter openly
before all: Yf thou beynge a Iewe, lyuest after the maner of the Gentyles,
and not as do the Iewes, why causest thou the Gentyles then to lyue as do th | 14 But when I saw, that they
went not ye right way to the trueth of ye Gospel, I sayd vnto Peter before
all men, If thou being a Iewe, liuest as the Gentiles, and not like the
Iewes, why constrainest thou the Gentiles to doe like the Iewes? | 14
But when I sawe that they went not the ryght way to the trueth of the Gospel,
I saide vnto Peter before them all: If thou beyng a Iewe, lyuest after the
maner of the gentiles, and not as do the Iewes: Why causest thou the gentiles
to lyue as do the Iewes? | 14 But when I saw that they
walked not vprightly according to the truth of the Gospel, I said vnto Peter
before them al, If thou, being a Iew, liuest after the maner of Gentiles, and
not as doe the Iewes, why compellest thou the Gentiles to liue as do the
  Iewes? |

  | 2:15 | 15 We Jewis of kynde, and not

  | 2:16 | 16 knowen that a man is not

the Lawe, no flesh shalbe iustified. | 16
Knowe that a man is not iustified by the deedes of the lawe, but by the fayth

  | 2:17 | 17 And if we sechen to be

the minister of sin? God forbid. | 17 Yf then whill we seke to be
made rightewes by Christ we oure selves are founde synners is not then Christ
ye minister of synne? God forbyd. | 17 Yf we then which seke to be

If then, whyle we seke to be made ryghteous by Christe, we our selues are

  | 2:18 | 18 God forbede. And if Y bylde

For yf I builde agayne the thynges which I destroyed, then make I my selfe a

  | 2:19 | 19 For bi the lawe Y am deed to
the lawe, and Y am fitchid to the crosse, that Y lyue to God with Crist. | 19 But i thorow the law am dead
to the law, that i might live unto God. | 19 But I thorow ye lawe ame deed
to ye lawe: that I myght live vnto God. | 19 But I thorow the lawe am deed
vnto the lawe, that I might lyue vnto God. | 19 For I through the Lawe am
dead to the Lawe, that I might liue vnto God. | 19
For I, through the lawe, am dead to the lawe, that I myght lyue vnto God: I
am crucified with Christe. | 19 For I through ye Law, am dead
to the Law, that I might liue vnto God. |

  | 2:20 | 20 And now lyue not Y, but Crist

gave him selne for me. | 20 I am crucified with Christ,
yet do I lyue: neuerthelesse now not I, but Christ lyueth in me. For ye life
which I now lyue in ye flesshe, I lyue in the faith of ye sonne of God which
loued me, and gaue himselfe for me. | 20 I am crucified with Christ,
but I liue, yet not I any more, but Christ liueth in me: and in that that I

Neuerthelesse, I lyue: yet nowe not I, but Christe lyueth in me. And ye lyfe
which I nowe liue in the fleshe, I lyue by the faith of the sonne of God,
which loued me, and gaue hym selfe for me. | 20 I am crucified with Christ.
Neuertheles, I liue, yet not I, but Christ liueth in me, and the life which I

  | 2:21 | 21 Y caste not awey the grace of
God; for if riytwisnesse be thoruy lawe, thanne Crist diede with out cause. | 21 i despise not the grace of
God: For if righteousness come of the law, then is Christ dead in vain. | 21 I despyse not the grace of
God. For if rightewesnes come of the lawe then Christ dyed in vayne. | 21 I cast not awaye the grace of
God. For yf righteousnes come by the lawe, then dyed Christ in vayne. | 21 I doe not abrogate the grace
of God: for if righteousnes be by the Lawe, then Christ dyed without a cause. | 21
I reiect not the grace of God: For yf ryghteousnesse come of the lawe, then
Christe is dead in vayne. | 21 I doe not frustrate the grace
of God: for if righteousnes come by the Lawe, then Christ is dead in vaine. |

and it was counted vnto him for righteousnes. | 6 Yea rather as Abraham beleeued
God, and it was imputed to him for righteousnes. | 6
Euen as Abraham beleued God, & it was ascribed to hym for
righteousnesse. | 6 Euen as Abraham beleeued God,
and it was accounted to him for righteousnesse. {accounted: or, imputed} |

  | 3:7 | 7 And therfor knowe ye, that

before honde glad tydinges vnto Abraham: In the shall all nacions be blessed. | 8 The scripture sawe afore hade,
that God iustifieth the Heythen thorow faith. Therfore shewed it glad

works of the lawe, are vnder the curse: for it is written, Cursed is euery
one that continueth not in all things which are written in the booke of the
  Law to doe them. |

  | 3:11 | 11 And that no man is iustified
in the lawe bifor God, it is opyn, for a riytful man lyueth of bileue. | 11 That no man is justified by
the law in the sight of God is evident. For the just shall live by faith. | 11 That no ma is iustified by ye
lawe in ye sight of God is evidet. For the iuste shall live by fayth. | 11 That no man is iustified by
the lawe in the sighte of God, it is euydet: For ye iust shal lyue by his
faith. | 11 And that no man is iustified
by the Law in the sight of God, it is euident: for the iust shall liue by
  faith. | 11
But that no man is iustified by ye lawe in the sight of God, it is euident.
For the iust shall lyue by fayth. | 11 But that no man is iustified
by the Lawe in the sight of God, it is euident: for, The iust shall liue by
  faith. |

  | 3:12 | 12 But the lawe is not of
bileue, but he that doith tho thingis of the lawe, schal lyue in hem. | 12 The law is not of faith: but
the man that fulfilleth the things contained in the law, shall live in them. | 12 The lawe is not of fayth: but
the man that fulfilleth the thinges contayned in the lawe (shall live in
the.) | 12 The lawe is not of faith, but
the ma that doth ye same, shal lyue therin. | 12 And the Lawe is not of faith:
but the man that shall doe those things, shall liue in them. | 12
And the lawe is not of fayth: but the man that doth them, shall lyue in
them. | 12 And the Law is not of faith:
but the man that doeth them, shall liue in them. |

  | 3:13 | 13 But Crist ayenbouyte us fro
the curse of the lawe, and was maad acursid for vs; for it is writun, Ech man
is cursid that hangith in the tre; | 13 Christ hath delivered us from
the curse of the law, and was made a cursed for us (for it is written: Cursed
is everyone that hangeth on tree) | 13 But Christ hath delivered vs
fro the curse of the lawe and was made a cursed for vs. For it is writte:
cursed is every one that hangeth on tree | 13 But Christ hath delyuered vs
from ye curse of the lawe, whan he became a curse for vs. (For it is wrytte:
Cursed is euery man that hangeth on tre) | 13 Christ hath redeemed vs from
the curse of the Lawe, made a curse for vs, (for it is written, Cursed is
euery one that hangeth on tree) | 13
Christe hath redeemed vs from the curse of the lawe, beyng made a curse for
vs. For it is written: Cursed is euery one that hangeth on tree: | 13 Christ hath redeemed vs from
the curse of the Law, being made a curse for vs: for it is written, Cursed is
euery one that hangeth on tree: |

  | 3:14 | 14 that among the hethene the
blessyng of Abraham were maad in `Crist Jhesu, that we vndurfonge the
biheeste of spirit thoruy bileue. | 14 that the blessing of Abraham
might come on the gentiles throwe Iesus Christ, that we might receive the
promise of the spirit thorow faith. | 14 that the blessynge of Abraham
might come on the getyls thorow Iesus Christ and that we might receave the
promes of the sprete thorow fayth. | 14 yt the blessynge of Abraham
mighte come on the Gentyles in Christ Iesu, and yt we might so receaue ye
promysed sprete, thorow faith. | 14 That the blessing of Abraham
might come on the Gentiles through Christ Iesus, that wee might receiue the
promise of the Spirite through faith. | 14
That the blessyng of Abraham might come on the gentiles through Iesus
Christe, that we myght receaue the promise of the spirite through fayth. | 14 That the blessing of Abraham
might come on the Gentiles, through Iesus Christ: that wee might receiue the
promise of the Spirit through faith. |

  | 3:15 | 15 Britheren, Y seie aftir man,
no man dispisith the testament of a man that is confermed, or ordeyneth
  aboue. | 15 ¶ Brethren i will speak after
the manner of men. Though it be but a man's testament, yet no man despiseth
it, or addeth any thing thereto when it is once allowed. | 15 Brethren I will speake after
the maner of men. Though it be but a mans testament yet no ma despiseth it or
addeth eny thinge therto when it is once alowed. | 15 Brethren, I wil speake after
the maner of men. Though it be but a mas Testamet, yet no man despyseth it,
or addeth eny thinge therto, whan it is confirmed. | 15 Brethren, I speake as men do:
though it be but a mans couenant, when it is confirmed, yet no man doeth
abrogate it, or addeth any thing thereto. | 15
Brethren, I speake after ye maner of men: Though it be but a mans testamet,
yet if it be alowed, no man reiecteth it, or addeth therto. | 15 Brethren, I speake after the
maner of men: though it be but a mans couenant, yet if it bee confirmed, no
man disanulleth, or addeth thereto. {covenant: or, testament} |

  | 3:16 | 16 The biheestis weren seid to
Abraham and to his seed; he seith not, In seedis, as in many, but as in oon,
And to thi seed, that is, Crist. | 16 To Abraham and his seed were
the promises made. He saith not, in thy seeds as in many: But in thy seed, as
in one, which is Christ. | 16 To Abraham and his seed were
the promises made. He sayth not in the seedes as in many: but in thy sede as
in one which is Christ. | 16 To Abraham and his sede were
the promyses made. He sayeth not: In the sedes, as in many, but in thy sede,
as in one, which is Christ. | 16 Nowe to Abraham and his seede
were the promises made. Hee saith not, And to the seedes, as speaking of
many: but, And to thy seede, as of one, which is Christ. | 16
To Abraham and his seede were the promises made. He sayth not to the seedes,
as of many: but to thy seede, as of one, which is Christe. | 16 Now to Abraham and his seede
were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many, but as of
one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. |

  | 3:17 | 17 But Y seie, this testament is
confermed of God; the lawe that was maad after foure hundrid and thritti
yeer, makith not the testament veyn to auoide awei the biheest. | 17 This i say that the law which
began afterward, beyond iiij. C. and xxx. years, doth not disannul the
testament, that was confirmed of God unto Christward, to make the promise of
none effect. | 17 This I saye that the lawe
which beganne afterwarde beyonde .iiii.C and .xxx. yeares doth not disanull
the testament that was confermed afore of God vnto Christ ward to make the
promes of none effect. | 17 This Testament (I saye) which
afore was confirmed to Christ warde, is not disanulled (that the promes
shulde be made of none affecte) by the lawe which was geuen beyonde foure
hundreth & thirtie yeares therafter. | 17 And this I say, that the
couenant that was confirmed afore of God in respect of Christ, the Lawe which
was foure hundreth and thirtie yeeres after, can not disanull, that it
shoulde make the promise of none effect. | 17
This I say, that the lawe which began afterwarde, beyonde foure hundred and
thirtie yeres, doth not disanull the testament that was confirmed afore of
God, vnto Christe warde, to make the promise of none effect. | 17 And this I say, that the
Couenant that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the Lawe which was foure
hundred and thirtie yeres after, cannot disanul, that it should make the
  promise of none effect. |

  | 3:18 | 18 For if eritage were of the
lawe, it were not now of biheeste. But God grauntide to Abraham thoruy
biheest. | 18 For if the inheritance come
of the law, it cometh not of promise: but God gave it unto Abraham by
promise. | 18 For yf the inheritaunce come
of the lawe it cometh not of promes. But God gave it vnto Abraham by promes. | 18 For yf the enheritaunce be
gotten by the lawe, then is it not geuen by promes. But God gaue it frely
vnto Abraham by promes. | 18 For if the inheritance be of
the Lawe, it is no more by the promise, but God gaue it freely vnto Abraham
  by promise. | 18
For yf the inheritauce be of the lawe, then not nowe of promise: But God gaue
it vnto Abraham by promise. | 18 For if the inheritance bee of
the Law, it is no more of promise: but God gaue it to Abraham by promise. |

  | 3:19 | 19
What thanne the lawe? It was sett for trespassing, to the seed come, to whom
he hadde maad his biheest. Whiche lawe was ordeyned bi aungels, in the hoond
of a mediatour. | 19 ¶ Wherefore then serveth the
law? The law was added because of transgression (till the seed came to which
the promise was made) and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a
mediator. | 19 Wherfore then serveth ye
lawe? The lawe was added because of transgression (tyll the seed cam to which
ye promes was made) and it was ordeyned by angels in ye honde of a mediator. | 19 Wherfore the serueth the
lawe? It was added because of trangression, tyll the sede came, to the which
the promes was made. And it was geuen of angels, by the hande of the
mediatoure. | 19 Wherefore then serueth the
Law? It was added because of the transgressions, til the seed came, vnto the
which the promise was made: and it was ordeined by Angels in the hande of a
  Mediatour. | 19
Wherfore then [serueth] the lawe? It was added because of transgressions, tyl
the seede came to whom the promise was made: and it was ordayned by Angels in
the hande of a mediatour. | 19 Wherefore then serueth the
Law? it was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come, to
whome the promise was made, and it was ordeyned by Angels in the hand of a
  Mediatour. |

  | 3:20 | But a mediatour is not of oon.
But God is oon. | 20 A mediator is not a mediator
of one. But God is one. | 20 A mediator is not a mediator
of one. But God is one. | 20 A mediatour is not a
mediatour of one onely, but God is one. | 20 Nowe a Mediatour is not a
Mediatour of one: but God is one. | 20 A
mediatour is not [a mediatour] of one, but God is one. | 20 Now a mediatour is not a
Mediatour of one, but God is one. |

  | 3:21 | 21 Is thanne the lawe ayens the
biheestis of God? God forbede. For if the lawe were youun, that myyte
quikene, verili were riytfulnesse of lawe. | 21 Is the law then against the
promise of God? God forbid. If there had been a law given which could have
given life: then no doubt righteousness should have come by the law: | 21 Ys the lawe then agaynst ye
promes of God? God forbid. How be it yf ther had bene a lawe geve which
coulde have geven lyfe: then no doute rightewesnes shuld have come by ye
lawe. | 21 Is the lawe then agaynst the
promyses of God? God forbyd. Howbeit yf there had bene geuen a lawe which
coulde haue geue life, the no doute righteousnes shulde come of the lawe. | 21 Is the Lawe then against the
promises of God? God forbid: For if there had bene a Lawe giuen which coulde
haue giuen life, surely righteousnes should haue bene by the Lawe. | 21
Is the lawe then against the promise of God? God forbyd. For yf there had ben
a lawe geuen which coulde haue geuen life: then no doubt righteousnesse
shoulde haue ben by the lawe. | 21 Is the Lawe then against the
promises of God? God forbid: for if there had beene a Lawe giuen which could
haue giuen life, verily righteousnesse should haue bene by the Law. |

  | 3:22 | 22 But scripture hath concludid
alle thingis vndir synne, that the biheeste of the feith of Jhesu Crist were
yyuen to hem that bileuen. | 22 but the scripture concluded
all things under sin, that the promise by the faith of Iesus Christ, should
be given unto them that believe. | 22 But ye scripture concluded
all thinges vnder synne yt the promes by the fayth of Iesus Christ shuld be
geve vnto them yt beleve. | 22 But ye scripture hath shut vp
all vnder synne, that ye promes shulde come by the faith on Iesus Christ,
geue vnto the that beleue. | 22 But the Scripture hath
concluded all vnder sinne, that the promise by the faith of Iesus Christ
should be giuen to them that beleeue. | 22
But the scripture hath concluded all vnder sinne, that the promise by ye
fayth of Iesus Christe shoulde be geuen vnto them that beleue. | 22 But the Scripture hath
concluded all vnder sinne, that the promise by faith of Iesus Christ might be
giuen to them that beleeue. |

  | 3:23 | 23 And tofor that bileue cam,
thei weren kept vndur the lawe, enclosid in to that bileue that was to be
schewid. | 23 Before that faith came, we
were kept and shut up under the law, unto the faith which should afterward be
declared. | 23 Before yt fayth cam we were
kept and shut vp vnder the lawe vnto the fayth which shuld afterwarde be
declared. | 23 Before faith came, we were
kepte and shut vp vnder the lawe, vnto the faith which shulde afterwarde be
declared. | 23 But before faith came, we
were kept vnder the Law, as vnder a garison, and shut vp vnto that faith,
which should afterward be reueiled. | 23
But before fayth came, we were kept vnder the lawe, and were shut vp vnto the
fayth which shoulde afterwarde be reuealed. | 23 But before faith came, wee
were kept vnder the Law, shut vp vnto the faith, which should afterwards bee
  reuealed. |

  | 3:24 | 24 And so the lawe was oure
vndirsmaister in Crist, that we ben iustified of bileue. | 24 ¶ Wherefore the law was our
schoolmaster unto the time of Christ, that we might be made righteous by
faith. | 24 Wherfore the lawe was oure
scolemaster vnto the tyme of Christ yt we might be made rightewes by fayth. | 24 Thus ye lawe was or
scolemaster vnto Christ, that we might be made righteous by faith. | 24 Wherefore the Lawe was our
scholemaster to bring vs to Christ, that we might be made righteous by faith. | 24
Wherfore, the lawe was our scholemaister vnto Christe, that we shoulde be
iustified by fayth. | 24 Wherefore the Law was our
Schoolemaster to bring vs vnto Christ, that we might be iustified by Faith. |

  | 3:25 | 25 But aftir that bileue cam, we
ben not now vndur the vndurmaistir. | 25 But after that faith is come,
now are we no longer under a schoolmaster. | 25 But after yt fayth is come
now are we no lenger vnder a scolemaster. | 25 But now that faith is come,
we are nomore vnder the scolemaster. | 25 But after that faith is come,
we are no longer vnder a scholemaster. | 25
But after that fayth is come, we are no longer vnder a scholemaister. | 25 But after that Faith is come,
we are no longer vnder a Schoolemaster. |

  | 3:26 | 26 For alle ye ben the children
of God thoruy the bileue of Jhesu Crist. | 26 For ye are all the sons of
God, by the faith which is in Christ Iesus. | 26 For ye are all the sonnes of
God by ye fayth which is in Christ Iesus. | 26 For ye all are the children
of God by the faith in Christ Iesu. | 26 For ye are al the sonnes of
God by faith, in Christ Iesus. | 26
For ye are all the chyldren of God by fayth in Christe Iesu. | 26 For ye are all the children
of God by faith in Christ Iesus. |

  | 3:27 | 27 For alle ye that ben
baptisid, ben clothid with Crist. | 27 For all ye that are baptised,
have put Christ on you. | 27 For all ye that are baptised
have put on Christ. | 27 For as many of you as are
baptysed, haue put on Christ. | 27 For all ye that are baptized
into Christ, haue put on Christ. | 27 For all ye
that are baptized, haue put on Christe. | 27 For as many of you as haue
bene baptized into Christ, haue put on Christ. |

  | 3:28 | 28 Ther is no Jewe, ne Greke, ne
bond man, ne fre man, ne male, ne female; for alle ye ben oon in `Jhesu
Crist. | 28 Now is there no Iewe, neither
Greek: there is neither bond, neither free: there is neither man, neither
woman: for all are one thing in Christ Iesu. | 28 Now is ther no Iewe nether
getyle: ther is nether bonde ner fre: ther is nether man ner woman: but ye
are all one thinge in Christ Iesu. | 28 Here is nether Iewe ner
Greke: here is nether bode ner fre: here is nether man ner woman, for ye are
all one in Christ Iesu. | 28 There is neither Iewe nor
Grecian: there is neither bonde nor free: there is neither male nor female:
for ye are all one in Christ Iesus. | 28
There is no Iewe, neither Greke, there is neither bonde nor free, there is
neither male, nor female: For ye are all one in Christe Iesu. | 28 There is neither Iewe, nor
Greeke, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for
ye are all one in Christ Iesus. |

  | 3:29 | 29 And if ye ben oon in `Jhesu
Crist, thanne ye ben the seed of Abraham, and eiris bi biheest. | 29 If ye be Christe's, then are
ye Abraham's seed, and heirs by promise. | 29 Yf ye be Christes then are ye
Abrahams seed and heyres by promes. | 29 Yf ye be Christes, the are ye
Abrahas sede and heyres acordynge to the promes. | 29 And if ye be Christes, then
are ye Abrahams seede, and heires by promise. | 29
If [ye be] Christes, then are ye Abrahams seede, and heyres accordyng to the
promise. | 29 And if yee be Christs, then
are ye Abrahams seed, and heires according to the promise. |

  | 4:1 | 1 But Y seie, as long tyme as
the eir is a litil child, he dyuersith no thing fro a seruaunt, whanne he is
lord of alle thingis; | 1 ¶ And i say that the heir as
long as he is a child differeth not from a servant, though he be lord of all, | 1 And I saye that the heyre as
longe as he is a chylde differth not from a servaunt though he be Lorde of
all | 1 But I saye: As longe as the
heyre is a childe, there is no difference betwene him and a seruaunt, though
he be lorde of all ye goodes: | 1 Then I say, that the heire as
long as hee is a childe, differeth nothing from a seruant, though he be Lord
  of all, | 1
And I say, that the heyre, as long as he is a chylde, differeth nothyng from
a seruaut, though he be Lorde of all, | 1 Now I say, that the heire, as
long as hee is a child, differeth nothing from a seruant, though hee bee Lord
  of all, |

  | 4:2 | 2 but he is vndur keperis and
tutoris, in to the tyme determyned of the fadir. | 2 but is under tutors and
governors, until the time appointed of the father. | 2 but is vnder tuters and
governers vntill the tyme appoynted of the father. | 2 but he is vnder tuters and
gouerners, vntyll the tyme appoynted of the father. | 2 But is vnder tutours and
gouernours, vntil the time appointed of the Father. | 2
But is vnder tuters and gouernours, vntyll the tyme appoynted of the
father. | 2 But is vnder tutors and
gouernours vntill the time appointed of the father. |

  | 4:3 | 3 So we, whanne we weren litle
children, we serueden vndur the elementis of the world. | 3 Even so we, as long as we were
children, were in bondage under the ordinances of the world: | 3 Even so we as longe as we were
chyldren were in bondage vnder the ordinaunces of the worlde. | 3 Euen so we also, wha we were
children, were in bondage vnder the outwarde tradicions. | 3 Euen so, we when wee were
children, were in bondage vnder the rudiments of the world. | 3
Euen so we, when we were chyldren, were in bondage vnder ye rudimentes of the
worlde: | 3 Euen so we, when wee were
children, were in bondage vnder the Elements of the world: {elements: or,
  rudiments} |

  | 4:4 | 4 But aftir that the fulfilling
of tyme cam, God sente his sone, | 4 But when the time was full
come, God sent his son born of a woman, and made bond unto the law, | 4 But when the tyme was full
come God sent his sonne borne of a woman and made bonde vnto ye lawe | 4 But whan the tyme was
fulfylled, God sent his sonne, borne of a woma, and put vnder the lawe, | 4 But when the fulnesse of time
was come, God sent forth his Sonne made of a woman, and made vnder the Lawe, | 4
But when the fulnesse of the tyme was come, God sent his sonne, made of a
woman, and made vnder the lawe, | 4 But when the fulnes of the
time was come, God sent foorth his Sonne made of a woman, made vnder the Law, |

  | 4:5 | 5 maad of a womman, maad vndur
the lawe, that he schulde ayenbie hem that weren vndur the lawe, that we
schulden vnderfonge the adopcioun of sones. | 5 to redeem them which were
under the law: that we thorow election should receive the inheritance that
belongeth unto the natural sons. | 5 to redeme the which were vnder
the lawe: yt we thorow eleccion myght receave the inheritauce yt belongeth
vnto the naturall sonnes. | 5 to redeme them which were
vnder the lawe, that we mighte receaue ye childshippe. | 5 That hee might redeeme them
which were vnder the Law, that we might receiue the adoption of the sonnes. | 5
To redeeme them that were vnder the lawe, that we myght receaue the adoption
of chyldren. | 5 To redeeme them that were
vnder the Law, that we might receiue the adoption of sonnes. |

  | 4:6 | 6 And for ye ben Goddis sones,
God sente his spirit in to youre hertis, criynge, Abba, fadir. | 6 Because ye are sons, God hath
sent the spirit of his son into our hearts, which crieth Abba father. | 6 Be cause ye are sonnes God
hath sent the sprete of his sonne in to oure hertes which cryeth Abba father. | 6 For so moch the as ye are
children, God hath sent the sprete of his sonne in to oure hertes, which
cryeth: Abba, deare father. | 6 And because ye are sonnes, God
hath sent foorth the Spirit of his Sonne into your heartes, which crieth,
  Abba, Father. | 6
Because ye are sonnes, God hath sent the spirite of his sonne into your
heartes, crying, Abba, father. | 6 And because yee are sonnes,
God hath sent foorth the spirit of his Sonne into your hearts, crying Abba,
  Father. |

  | 4:7 | 7 And so ther is not now a
seruaunt, but a sone; and if he is a sone, he is an eir bi God. | 7 Wherefore now art thou not a
servant, but a son. If thou be the son, thou art also the heir of God thorow
Christ. | 7 Wherfore now thou art not a
servaunt but a sonne. Yf thou be ye sonne thou arte also the heyre of God
thorow Christ. | 7 Wherfore now, thou art not a
seruaunt, but a sonne. Yf thou be a sonne, then art thou the heyre of God
thorow Christ. | 7 Wherefore, thou art no more a
seruant, but a sonne: now if thou be a sone, thou art also the heire of God
  through Christ. | 7
Wherfore thou art no more a seruaunt, but a sonne: If thou be a sonne, thou
art also an heire of God, through Christ. | 7 Wherefore thou art no more a
seruant, but a sonne; and if a sonne, then an heire of God through Christ. |

  | 4:8 | 8 But thanne ye vnknowynge God,
serueden to hem that in kynde weren not goddis. | 8 ¶ Notwithstanding, when ye
knew not God, ye did service unto them, which by nature were not goddes: | 8 Notwithstondinge whe ye knewe
not God ye dyd service vnto them which by nature were no goddes. | 8 Notwithstondinge whan ye knewe
not God, ye dyd seruyce vnto them, which by nature are no Goddes. | 8 But euen then, when ye knewe
not God, yee did seruice vnto them, which by nature are not gods: | 8
Notwithstandyng, when ye knewe not God, ye dyd seruice vnto the which by
nature are no Gods. | 8 Howbeit, then when ye knew not
God, yee did seruice vnto them which by nature are no Gods. |

  | 4:9 | 9 But now whanne ye han knowe
God, and ben knowun of God, hou ben ye turned eftsoone to the febil and nedi
elementis, to the whiche ye wolen eft serue? | 9 But now seeing ye know God
(yee rather are known of God) how is it that ye turn again unto the weak and
beggarly ceremonies, whereunto again ye desire afresh to be in bondage? | 9 But now seinge ye knowe god
(yee rather are knowe of God) how is it that ye tourne agayne vnto the weake
and bedgarly cerimonies whervnto agayne ye desyre afresshe to be in bondage? | 9 But now seynge ye knowe God
(yee rather are knowne off God) how is it that ye turne you backe agayne vnto
the weake and beggerly tradicions, wher vnto ye desyre agayne afresh to be in
bondage? | 9 But now seeing ye knowe God,
yea, rather are knowen of God, howe turne ye againe vnto impotent and
beggerly rudiments, whereunto as from the beginning ye wil be in bondage
  againe? | 9
But nowe after that ye haue knowen God, yea, rather are knowen of God, howe
turne ye agayne vnto the weake and beggarly rudimentes, whervnto againe ye
desire a freshe to be in bondage? | 9 But now after that yee haue
knowen God, or rather are knowen of God, how turne ye againe to the weak and

God, euen as Christ Iesus. |

  | 4:15 | 15 Where thanne is youre
blessyng? For Y bere you witnesse, that if it myyte haue be don. ye wolden
haue put out youre iyen, and haue yyuen hem to me. | 15 How happy were ye then? for i
bear you record that if it had been possible, ye would have digged out your
own eyes, and have given them to me. | 15 How happy were ye then? for I
beare you recorde that yf it had bene possible ye wolde have plucked out
youre awne eyes and have geven them to me. | 15 How happy were ye then? For I
beare you recorde, that yf it had bene possible, ye had plucked out youre
awne eyes, and geue them vnto me. | 15 What was then your felicitie?
for I beare you recorde, that if it had bene possible, ye would haue plucked
out your owne eyes, and haue giuen them vnto me. | 15
What is then your felicitie? For I beare you recorde, that yf it had ben

  | 4:16 | 16 Am Y thanne maad an enemye to
you, seiynge to you the sothe? | 16 Am i so greatly become your
enemy, because i tell you the truth? | 16 Am I therfore become youre

enemy, because I tell you ye trueth? | 16 Am I therefore become your
enemie, because I tell you the trueth? | 16
Am I therfore become your enemie, because I tell you the trueth? | 16 Am I therefore become your
enemie, because I tell you the trueth? |

  | 4:17 | 17 Thei louen not you wel, but
thei wolen exclude you, that ye suen hem. | 17 ¶ They are jealous over you
amiss. Yee they intend to exclude you that ye should be fervent to themward. | 17 They are gelous over you
amysse. Ye they intede to exclude you that ye shuld be feruet to them warde. | 17 They are gelous ouer you
amysse. Yee they wolde make you to fall backe, that ye might be feruet to the
warde. | 17 They are ielous ouer you
amisse: yea, they woulde exclude you, that ye shoulde altogether loue them. | 17
They are gelouse ouer you amisse: Yea, they intende to exclude you, that ye

not well: yea, they would exclude you, that you might affect them. {exclude
  you: or, exclude us} |

  | 4:18 | 18 But sue ye the good euermore
in good, and not oneli whanne Y am present with you. | 18 It is good always to be
fervent, so it be in a good thing, and not only when i am present with you. | 18 It is good alwayes to be
fervent so it be in a good thinge and not only whe I am present with you. | 18 It is good to be feruent, so
yt it be allwaye in a good thinge, and not onely whan I am present wt you. | 18 But it is a good thing to
loue earnestly alwayes in a good thing, and not onely when I am present with
  you, | 18
It is good alwayes to be zelous in a good thyng, and not only when I am
present with you | 18 But it is good to bee
zealously affected alwayes in a good thing, and not onely when I am present
  with you. |

  | 4:19 | 19 My smale children, whiche Y
bere eftsoones, til that Crist be fourmed in you, | 19 ¶ My little children (of whom
i travail in birth again until Christ be fashioned in you) | 19 My littel children (of whom I
travayle in birth againe vntill Christ be fassioned in you) | 19 My litle children (of whom I
trauayle in byrth agayne, vntyll Christ be fashioned in you) | 19 My litle children, of whome I
trauaile in birth againe, vntill Christ be formed in you. | 19
My litle chyldren, of whom I trauayle in birth agayne, vntyll Christe be
fashioned in you. | 19 My litle children, of whom I
trauaile in birth againe, vntill Christ bee formed in you: |

  | 4:20 | 20 and Y wolde now be at you,
and chaunge my vois, for Y am confoundid among you. | 20 i would i were with you now,
and could change my voice, for i stand in a doubt of you. | 20 I wolde I were with you now
and coulde chaunge my voyce: for I stonde in a doute of you | 20 I wolde I were wt you now,
and coulde chauge my voyce, for I stode i doute of you. | 20 And I would I were with you
nowe, that I might change my voyce: for I am in doubt of you. | 20
But I desire to be present with you nowe, and to chaunge my voyce: for I
stande in doubt of you. | 20 I desire to bee present with
you now, and to change my voyce, for I stand in doubt of you. {I stand…: or,
  I am perplexed for you} |

  | 4:21 | 21 Seie to me, ye that wolen be
vndir the lawe, `han ye not red the lawe? | 21 Tell me ye that desire to be
under the law: have ye not heard of the law? | 21 Tell me ye that desyre to be
vnder the lawe have ye not hearde of the lawe? | 21 Tell me ye that wylbe vnder
the lawe, haue ye not herde the lawe? | 21 Tell me, ye that will be
vnder the Law, doe ye not heare the Lawe? | 21
Tell me, ye that desire to be vnder the lawe, do ye not heare the lawe? | 21 Tell me, ye that desire to be
vnder the Law, doe ye not heare the Law? |

  | 4:22 | 22 For it is writun, that
Abraham hadde two sones, oon of a seruaunt, and oon of a fre womman. | 22 For it is written that
Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a free woman. | 22 For it is written that
Abraham had two sonnes ye one by a bonde mayde the other by a fre woman. | 22 For it is wrytten, that
Abraham had two sonnes the one by a bonde mayde, the other by a fre woman. | 22 For it is written, that
Abraham had two sonnes, one by a seruant, and one by a free woman. | 22
For it is written, that Abraham had two sonnes, the one by a bonde mayde, the
other by a free woman: | 22 For it is written, that
Abraham had two sonnes, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman. |

  | 4:23 | 23 But he that was of the
seruaunt, was borun after the flesh; but he that was of the fre womman, by a
biheeste. | 23 Yee and he which was of the
bondwoman, was born was born after the flesh: but he which was of the
freewoman, was born by promise. | 23 Yee and he which was of the
bonde woman was borne after the flesshe: but he which was of the fre woman
was borne by promes. | 23 As for him that was of the
bode mayde, he was borne after ye flesh: but he which was of the fre woman,
was borne by promes. | 23 But he which was of the
seruant, was borne after the flesh: and he which was of the free woman, was
  borne by promise. | 23
But he which was of the bonde woman, was borne after the fleshe: but he which
was of the free woman, [was borne] by promise. | 23 But he who was of the
bondwoman, was borne after the flesh: but hee of the freewoman, was by
  promise. |

  | 4:24 | 24 The whiche thingis ben seid
bi an othir vndirstonding. For these ben two testamentis; oon in the hille of
Synai, gendringe in to seruage, which is Agar. | 24 Which things betoken mystery.
For these women are two testaments, the one from the mount Sina, which
gendreth unto bondage, which is Agar. | 24 Which thinges betoken
mystery. For these wemen are two testamentes the one fro the mounte Sina
which gendreth vnto bondage which is Agar. | 24 These wordes betoken somwhat.
For these wemen are the two Testamentes: The one from the mount Sina, that
gendreth vnto bondage, which is Agar. | 24 By the which things another
thing is meant: for these mothers are the two testaments, the one which is
Agar of mount Sina, which gendreth vnto bondage. | 24
Which thynges are spoken by an allegorie. For these are two testamentes: the
one from the mount Sina, which gendreth vnto bondage, which is Agar. | 24 Which things are an
Allegorie; for these are the two Couenants; the one from the mount Sinai,
  which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar. {covenants: or, testaments}
  {Sinai: Gr. Sina} |

  | 4:25 | 25 For Syna is an hille that is
in Arabie, which hille is ioyned to it that is now Jerusalem, and seruith
with hir children. | 25 (For mount Sinai is called
Agar in Arabia, and bordereth upon the city which is now Ierusalem) and is in
bondage with her children. | 25 For mounte Sina is called
Agar in Arabia and bordreth vpo the citie which is now Ierusalem and is in
bondage with her chyldren. | 25 For Agar is called in Arabia
ye mount Sina, and reacheth vnto Ierusalem which now is, and is in bondage
with hir children. | 25 (For Agar or Sina is a
mountaine in Arabia, and it answereth to Hierusalem which nowe is) and she is
in bondage with her children. | 25
For Agar is the mount Sina in Arabia, and bordreth vpon the citie, which is
nowe [called] Hierusalem, and is in bondage with her chyldren. | 25 For this Agar is mount Sinai
in Arabia, and answereth to Ierusalem, which now is, and is in bondage with
her children. {answereth to: or, is in the same rank with} |

  | 4:26 | 26 But that Jerusalem that is
aboue, is fre, whiche is oure modir. | 26 ¶ But Ierusalem, which is
above, is free: which is the mother of us all. | 26 But Ierusalem which is above
is fre: which is the mother of vs all. | 26 But Ierusalem that is aboue,
is the fre woman, which is the mother of vs all. | 26 But Hierusalem, which is
aboue, is free: which is the mother of vs all. | 26
But Hierusalem which is aboue, is free: which is the mother of vs all. | 26 But Ierusalem which is aboue
is free, which is the mother of vs all. |

  | 4:27 | 27 For it is writun, Be glad,
thou bareyn, that berist not; breke out and crye, that bringist forth no
children; for many sones ben of hir that is left of hir hosebonde, more than
of hir that hath an hosebonde. | 27 For it is written: rejoice
thou barren, that bearest no children: break forth and cry, thou that
travailest not. For the desolate hath many more children, than she which hath
an husband. | 27 For it is written: reioyce
thou bare that bearest no chyldre: breake forthe and crye thou that travelest
not. For the desolate hath many moo chyldren then she which hath an husband. | 27 For it is wrytte: Reioyse
thou baren, that bearest no childre: breake forth and crye thou yt trauaylest
not, for the desolate hath many mo childre, then she which hath an hussbande. | 27 For it is written, Reioyce
thou barren that bearest no children: breake forth, and cry, thou that
trauailest not: for the desolate hath many moe children, then she which hath
  an husband. | 27
For it is written: Reioyce thou baren, that bearest no chyldren, breake
foorth and crye, thou that trauaylest not: For the desolate hath many mo
chyldren, then she which hath an husbande. | 27 For it is written, Reioyce
  thou barren that bearest not, breake foorth and cry thou that traueilest not;
for the desolate hath many moe children then she which hath an husband. |

  | 4:28 | 28 For, britheren, we ben sones
of biheeste aftir Isaac; | 28 Brethren we are after the
manner of Isaac children of promise: | 28 Brethre we are after the
maner of Isaac chyldren of promes. | 28 As for vs (brethren) we are
the children of Isaac acordinge to the promes. | 28 Therefore, brethren, wee are
after the maner of Isaac, children of the promise. | 28 But
brethren, we are after Isaac the chyldren of promise. | 28 Now wee, brethren, as Isaac
was, are the children of promise. |

  | 4:29 | 29 but now as this that was
borun after the fleisch pursuede him that was aftir the spirit, so now. | 29 But as then he that was born
carnally, persecuted him that was born spiritually, Even so is it now. | 29 But as then he yt was borne
carnally persecuted him that was borne spiritually. Even so is it now. | 29 But like as at that tyme, he
that was borne after the flesh, persecuted him yt was borne after the sprete,
euen so is it now also. | 29 But as then hee that was
borne after the flesh, persecuted him that was borne after the Spirit, euen
so it is nowe. | 29
But as then he that was borne after the fleshe, persecuted hym that was borne
after the spirite: euen so is it now. | 29 But as then hee that was
borne after the flesh, persecuted him that was borne after the Spirit, euen
  so it is now. |

  | 4:30 | 30 But what seith the scripture?
Caste out the seruaunt and hir sone, for the sone of the seruaunt schal not
be eir with the sone of the fre wijf. | 30 Nevertheless what saith the
scripture: Cast a way the bondwoman and her son. For the son of the bondwoman
shall not be heir with the son of the free woman. | 30 Neverthelesse what sayth the
scripture: put awaye the bonde woman and her sonne. For the sonne of the
bonde woma shall not be heyre with the sonne of ye fre woman. | 30 But what sayeth the
scripture? Put awaye the bonde mayden and hir sonne: for the sonne of ye
bondmayde shal not be heyre with ye sonne of the fre woman. | 30 But what sayth the Scripture?
Put out the seruant and her sonne: for the sonne of the seruant shall not be
heire with the sonne of the free woman. | 30
Neuerthelesse, what saith the scripture? put away the bondwoman and her
sonne: For the sonne of the bondwoman, shall not be heire with the sonne of
the free woman. | 30 Neuerthelesse, what saith the
Scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her sonne: for the son of the bondwoman
shall not bee heire with the son of the freewoman. |

  | 4:31 | 31 And so, britheren, we ben not
sones of the seruaunt, but of the fre wijf, bi which fredom Crist hath maad
vs fre. | 31 So then brethren we are not
children of the bondwoman: but of the freewoman. | 31 So then brethren we are not
chyldre of the bonde woman: but of the fre woman. | 31 So now brethren, we are not
children of the bonde mayde, but of the fre woman. | 31 Then brethren, we are not
children of the seruant, but of the free woman. | 31
So then brethren, we are not chyldren of the bonde woman, but of the
free. | 31 So then, brethren, we are not
children of the bondwoman, but of the free. |

  | 5:1 | 1 Stonde ye therfor, and nyl ye
eftsoones be holdun in the yok of seruage. | 1 ¶ Stand fast therefore in the
liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and wrap not yourselves again in
the yoke of bondage. | 1 Stond fast therfore in ye
libertie wher with Christ hath made vs fre and wrappe not youre selves agayne
in ye yoke of bondage. | 1 Stonde fast therfore in the
libertye wherwith Christ hath made vs fre, and be not wrapped agayne in the
yocke off bondage. | 1 Stand fast therefore in the
libertie wherewith Christ hath made vs free, and be not intangled againe with
the yoke of bondage. | 1
Stande fast therfore in the libertie wherwith Christe hath made vs free, and
be not intangled agayne with ye yoke of bondage. | 1 Stand fast therefore in the
libertie wherewith Christ hath made vs free, and bee not intangled againe
with the yoke of bondage. |

  | 5:2 | 2 Lo! Y Poul seie to you, that
if ye ben circumcidid, Crist schal no thing profite to you. | 2 Be hold i Paul say unto you,
that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing at all. | 2 Beholde I Paul saye vnto you
that yf ye be circumcised Christ shall proffit you nothinge at all. | 2 Beholde, I Paul saye vnto you:
Yf ye be circumcysed, Christ profiteth you nothinge at all. | 2 Beholde, I Paul say vnto you,
that if yee be circumcised, Christ shall profite you nothing. | 2
Beholde I Paul saye vnto you, that yf ye be , circumcised Christe shall
profite you nothyng. | 2 Beholde, I Paul say vnto you
that if ye be circumcised, Christ shal profite you nothing. |

  | 5:3 | 3 And Y witnesse eftsoones to
ech man that circumcidith hym silf, that he is dettour of al the lawe to be
don. | 3 i testify again to every man
which is circumcised that he is bound to keep the whole law. | 3 I testifie agayne to every man
which is circumcised that he is bounde to kepe the whole lawe. | 3 I testifye agayne vnto euery
man which is circumcysed, that he is bounde to kepe the whole lawe. | 3 For I testifie againe to euery
man, which is circumcised, that he is bound to keepe the whole Lawe. | 3
For I testifie agayne to euery man which is circumcised, that he is a detter
to do the whole lawe. | 3 For I testifie againe to euery
man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to doe the whole Law. |

  | 5:4 | 4 And ye ben voidid awei fro
Crist, and ye that be iustified in the lawe, ye han fallen awei fro grace. | 4 Ye are gone quite from Christ
as many as are justified by the law, and are fallen from grace. | 4 Ye are gone quyte fro Christ
as many as are iustified by the lawe and are fallen from grace. | 4 Ye are gone quyte from Christ,
as many off you as wylbe made righteous by the lawe, and are fallen from
grace. | 4 Ye are abolished from Christ:
whosoeuer are iustified by the Law, ye are fallen from grace. | 4
Christe is become but vayne to you, as many of you as are iustified by the
lawe, are fallen from grace. | 4 Christ is become of no effect
vnto you, whosoeuer of you are iustified by the Law: ye are fallen from
  grace. |

  | 5:5 | 5 For we thoruy the spirit of
bileue abiden the hope of riytfulnesse. | 5 We look for and hope to be
justified by the spirit which commeth of faith. | 5 We loke for and hope in the
sprite to be iustified thorow fayth. | 5 But we wayte in the sprete off
hope, to be made righteous by faith. | 5 For we through the Spirit
waite for the hope of righteousnes through faith. | 5
For we through the spirite, wayte for the hope of ryghteousnes by fayth. | 5 For we through the spirit
waite for the hope of righteousnesse by faith. |

  | 5:6 | 6 For in Jhesu Crist nether
circumcisioun is ony thing worth, nether prepucie, but the bileue that
worchith bi charite. | 6 For in Iesu Christ, neither is
circumcision anything worth, neither yet uncircumcision, but faith which by
love is mighty in operation. | 6 For in Iesu Christ nether is
circumcision enythinge worth nether yet vncircocision but faith which by love
is mighty in operacion. | 6 For in Christ Iesu nether is
circumcision eny thinge worth ner vncircumcision, but faith which by loue is
mightie in operacion. | 6 For in Iesus Christ neither
circumcision auaileth any thing, neither vncircumcision, but faith which
  worketh by loue. | 6
For in Iesus Christe, neither is circumcision any thing woorth, neither yet
vncircumcision: but fayth, which worketh by loue. | 6 For in Iesus Christ, neither
circumcision auaileth any thing, nor vncircumcision, but faith which worketh
  by loue. |

  | 5:7 | 7 Ye runnen wel; who lettide you
that ye obeyede not to treuthe? | 7 Ye did run well. Who was a
lett unto you, that ye should not obey the truth? | 7 Ye did runne well: who was a
let vnto you that ye shuld not obey the trueth? | 7 Ye ranne well, who was a let
vnto you, that ye shulde not obeye the trueth? | 7 Ye did runne well: who did let
you, that ye did not obey the trueth? | 7
Ye dyd runne well, who was a let vnto you, that ye should not obey ye
trueth? | 7 Ye did run well; who did
hinder you, that ye should not obey the trueth? {hinder you: or, drive you
  back} |

  | 5:8 | 8 Consente ye to no man; for
this counsel ys not of hym that hath clepid you. | 8 Even that counsel that is not
of him that called you. | 8 Eve that counsell that is not
of him that called you. | 8 Soch councell is not of him
that hath called you. | 8 It is not the perswasion of
him that calleth you. | 8 Not the perfection of
hym that called you. | 8 This perswasion commeth not of
  him that calleth you. |

  | 5:9 | 9 A litil souredowy apeirith al
the gobet. | 9 A little leaven doth leaven
the whole lump of dough. | 9 A lytell leven doth leven the
whole lompe of dowe. | 9 A litle leuen sowreth the
whole lompe of dowe. | 9 A litle leauen doeth leauen
  the whole lumpe. | 9 A litle
leauen, doth leauen the whole lumpe of dowe. | 9 A little leauen leaueneth the
  whole lumpe. |

  | 5:10 | 10 I trust on you in oure Lord,
that ye schulden vndurstonde noon other thing. And who that disturblith you,
schal bere dom, who euere he be. | 10 ¶ i have trust toward you in
God, that ye will be none otherwise minded. He that troubleth you shall bear
his judgement, whatsoever he be. | 10 I have trust towarde you in
the Lorde yt ye wyll be none other wyse mynded. He that troubleth you shall
beare his iudgemet what soever he be. | 10 I haue trust towarde you in
ye LORDE, that ye wylbe none otherwyse mynded. But he that troubleth you,
shal beare his iudgment, what so euer he be. | 10 I haue trust in you through
the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but hee that troubleth you,
shall beare his condemnation, whosoeuer he be. | 10
I haue truste towarde you in the Lorde, that ye wyll be none otherwyse
mynded: But he that troubleth you, shall beare iudgement, whatsoeuer he
